The Hagan Comedy Company.
That the Martyn-Hagan Comedy Ooy. firmly established themselves as public favorites, on the occasion of their first visit to the goldfields some months ago, was amply demonstrated by the crowded house that greeted them on their return visit to Alexandra last Saturday evening; and that they are likely to maintain their enviable reputation is assured by the entire satisfaction given to the large audiences that have welcomed them on their return visit—not only in Alexandra, but in other parts of the district. Mr Martyn Hagan again succeeded in keeping his auditors in a perpetual simmer of merriment with his inimitable comicalities, and his performance confirmed the previouslyexpressed opinion that as a comedian he is second to none who have yet visited these parts. Miss Lucy Eraser's fine contributions were received with marked expressions of approval, and Little Victor's efforts certainly justify »his right to the title of the " human canary," Professor Sylvester, a recent acquisition to the strength of the company, performed some very clever feats in conjuring and legerdemain, while the other members of the company were also highly successful in their various roles. Altogether, the entertainment was a most enjoyable one, without a semblance of anything approaching vulgarity. The Company re-appear at Alexandra on Saturday evening next, when a change of programme (including the comedy "O'Callaghan on his Last Legs ") will be submitted. Ophir will be visited on Monday and Matakanui on Tuesday, and we advise our readers there not to miss this excellent entertainment.
