Land Board.
The following business of local interest was transacted at last week's meeting of the Otago Waste Lands Board : The Board were requested to authorise the Receiver of Land Revenue to deal with the sum of £37 paid as valuation for improvements on section 3, block in, Poolburn district. —The Receiver was authorised to pay arrears of rent £l6 2s 6d, renting fee £1 10s, and balance to J Darlington £l9 7s 6d. The Board considered the application of Hugh H Watson for an occupation lease under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act over 100 acres on run No. 221, Moutere, at Springvale, and deferred it until the survey of Moutere is proceeded with. E Morgan applied to be allowed to acquire an area of 65 acres on Run 226, St Bathans—The chairman was requested' to act in thi3 matter. Mr H R Martin renewed his application to acquire section 45, block 11, Blackstone district—lt was resolved to Gazette notice under the Land Act, and the board would then grant the license.
An application for rural land on occupation with right of purchase tenure wa3 received from Patrick O'Dea, section 9, block I, Tiger Hill district—Granted, subject to payment of valuation for improvements. Ranker O'Neill reported on the applications by .John Meade and Pataick Scott for a license to occupy section 2, block in, Poolburn district —The report was adopted and a license granted to J Meade for the portion opposite his section at lOe, and one to P Scott for land opposite section at 15s.
William Annan's application for an occupation lease under the Mining District Land Occupation Act over 20 acres in block XI, Rock and Pillar district adjoining the area at present held by him under the same tenure was considered.—The board found it could not grant the lease, as the applicant already held a leaße under the same act. Robert Love wrote in regard to his application for removal of gravel from the tailrace reserve running through section I, block x, Poolburn district; and Malcolm Isbister also wrote in regard to the application—Referred to the ranger.
