The story of “Bond Street,” which opens to-night at the St. James Theatre, is made up of plots and sub-plots of everyday life. Bond Street (although perhaps shabby from'its war years), is still the. focus for the luxury trade of the world. The people who shop or work there, who live there or only pass by; all these form the threads of an interwoven pattern. “Bond Street” is mainly the story of a wedding dress and a lovely bride (Hazel Court), who goes happily to her wedding completely unaware of the chain of events her charming demands have made. Behind the making of the gown is the story of the seamstress (Kathleen Harrison), distracted by her own personal worries. Then comes an account of a murderer (Derek Parr) and the girl who takes him in (Jean KentJ, a girl who is not unused to extending hospitality to strangers. This is followed again by another tale and yet another, all having some important part in the bride’s life. - i
