LEGISLATOR CHARGED WITH BRIBERY

POLICE FIND NO SUPPORTING EVIDENCE SYDNEY, Feb. 28. The poh’e have found no evidence to suport allegations of bribery made against a Government member in the State Legislative Assembly last week. The police report, which was sent urgently to the State Cabinet to-day, stated that there was no apparent grounds for action. Last Thursday a Liberal member, Mr K. M. McCaw, alleged that a Labour member, whom he did not name, had accepted between £2O and £3O a week from a certain firm for transport facilities denied to the general public. The Premier (Mr J. McGirr) later announced that a Royal Commission would ba set up to inquire into the allegations of bribciy made against a Government member.
