MURPHY DEFEATED ON POINTS
BOUT IN LONDON LONDON, February 28. Bos Murphy was beaten narrowly on points by the Londoner, Jimmy Davis, in an eight-round contest last night. Murphy warmed up slowly and fought evenly to 'the last round and then appeared to have the- edge on his opponent. Many thought that the verdict‘was his. Davis was more effective, at close quarters, but Murphy was the longrange master.
