POLISH BISHOPS CRITICISED
STATEMENT ISSUED BY GOVERNMENT LONDON, Feb. 28. Reuter’s Warsaw correspondent says .that the Polish Government last night accused Poland’s Roman Catholic bishops of abusing the authcrity of the Church for purely political action hostile to the State. The Government’s statement said that the interests of the State demanded “a loyal attitude on the part of the clergy toward Government policy,” and that the only basis for normal relations between Church and State was the abandonment by the Church of all acts hostile to the State authorities.
