ESCAPE OF WESTER LING (Rec. 10.0) THE HAGUE, Feb. 28. The Defence Minister, Mr. W. F. Schokking, confirmed in Parliament to-day that Captain “Turk” Westerling was helped by some members of the Dutch armed forces when he escaped to Singapore. An authoritative spokesman said to-day that the Dutch will arrest Captain Westerling if he reported to Holland. If then Indonesia asked Holland to extradite Captain Westerling, the Dutch Government would not comply with the request. Captain Westerling would be tried in Holland for what he.,did in Indonesia, added the spokesman.—United Press.
