POSITION OF LABOUR (Rec. 12.30) CANBERRA, This Day. Many political observers did not yet appear to believe that Labour would refuse to pass through the Senate the banking legislation to be brought down by the Menzies Government, said Mr Allan Fraser, Labour member of the House of Representatives. They thought that Labour was bluffing. Labour would agree to the repeal of the Bank Nationalisation Act because the courts had declared it invalid, and it was a dead letter, but Labour would oppose proposals to reconstitute the Bank Board.
