COMMUNISTS AND LABOUR * (Rec. 11.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Communist Party appealed to the Australian Labour Party for ‘‘complete unity of the working class” to defeat the newly-elected Menzies Government. The secretary of the Niew South Wales branch of the A.L.P. said, however, “there can be no collusion between tire Communists and Labour. They are distinct parties with distinctly different ideals. The Labour Party will not link up with the Communist Party. Our conferences have repeatedly made it clear that no member of the Communist Party can be a member of the Labour Party.
