U.S. EMPLOYMENT BILL
MOVE TO PREVENT DISCKLUIN ATiON WASHINGTON, Feb. 24. The United States House of Representatives to-day passed the Fair Employment Practices Bill after it had been stripped of its enforcement provisions. The bill as passed is far short of what Mr Truman sought. It expresses a policy that there should be no discrimination against minority groups in job opportunities because of race, colour, or creed, and seeks to avert such discrimination through persuasion and education. It provides no penalties for anyone violating the major provisions. Southern Democrats opposed the original bill when it was introduced into the House yesterday. .
