CABINET DECIDES ON ELECTRIFICATION BRISBANE, Feb. 23. The Queensland .State Cabinet has approved the electrification of the Brisbane ! suburban railway system at a cost of £8,853,000. Tenders will be called within six months for rolling stock costing £3,250,000, power supply equipment, worth £1,300,000, and other materials. The Government hopes to complete the electrification within eight or nine' years. Estimates prepared in 1947 set the cost at £4,750,000.
