UNREST IN EAST BENGAL

ALLEGED KILLING OF HINDUS (Rec. 10 a.m.) NEW DELHI, Feb. 23. The Indian Prime Minister (Pandit Nehru) to-day accused Pakistan of throwing an “iron curtain” over Bengal to cloak the mass murder of the Hindu religious minority by Moslems. Pandit Nehru told the Indian Parliament that the recent disturbances in East Bengal had resulted in between 600 and 1000 deaths in the city of Dacca alone. He said it was for the Pakistan Government to consider seriously “what the consequences are likely to he if it is unable to give peace and security to its own citizens.”
