COMMUNITY CENTRE

MONTHLY MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The monthly meeting of the Ashburton Community Centre committee was held last evening. Dr. W. R. Ryburn, presdent, was in the chair. The chairman reported progress on the recreational hall project, including the preliminary meeting of representatives of sports bodies with the centre committee and the business done in furtherance of the scheme at the joint committee meeting, between the Borough Council and the centre’s representatives. The matter of the partition between the two main meeting rooms was again under review, and it was decided to convene a special meeting of the committee to consider the report and the financial statement prior to the general meeting. • ;
