PETROL SALES IN WESTERN U.S.
MINOR PRICE WAR REPORTED
WASHINGTON, Feb. 20
A minor price war among American oil companies is developing in States west of Chicago. The price cuts range from 5 per cent, to 20 per cent. The Federal Justice Department is considering bringing charges under the anti-trust law against some of the major oil companies which are allegedly involved in pribe-cutting. In California,, only one firm, the General Petroleum . Corporation, has so far admitted being involved in a price war. * The ' corporation to-day said that it was granting a competitive allowance to any of its petrol resellers suffering hardship because of price cutting.
