HEAVY RAINS

■FLOODS REPORTED IN QUEENSLAND

(Rec. 12.30) SYDNEY, This Day. Heavy rains over the past week have brought 'extensive flooding to Southern Queensland and inland areas of New South Wales.

Two men rowed 80 miles down the flooded Thomson River to Longreach, Central Queensland, in an aeroplane belly tank. They came from Muttaburra, which is cut off by road. Blair Atholl and Clermont are also isolated by road and rail.
