NEAR F. 8.1. HEADQUARTERS (12.30) WASHINGTON, Feb. 17. Three gunmen to-day stole 40.000 dollars from a bank within shouting distance of the F. 8.1. headquarters. It is the first bank robbery in the capital since 1933. The hold-up was staged during a quiet period. One gunman walked up to the. teller’s cage, opened a small suitcase, as if ter bank cheques, but took out a gun and said: “Hand it over.” The gunmen not only took all the bank’s notes, but also picked- up the odd silver, before driving off in a car. *
