CHILD DIES FROM BURNS
IN HOSPITAL 18 DAYS (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 13. Burns .he suffered at his home on January 26 resulted in the death of a six-year-old child, Anthony Bruce Sharpe, in the Hawera Hospital today. The child’s parents are Mr and Mrs R. C. Sharpe.
YOUNG MAN DROWNED (P.A.) GREYMOUTH February 13. IjShith Jacobs, aged 25, of Huntly, a son of Mrs S. Jacobs, of Omoto Road, Greymouth, was drowned at Rotorua on Sunday afternoon. Born at Greymouth, he served in the R.N.Z.A.F. during the war. For the last two years he had lived at Huntly and was paying a week-end visit to Rotorua. The body will be brought to Greymouth for burial. Two of his brothers were drowned 13 years ago while crossing the Grey River on horseback during a flood. His father was fatally gored by a bull 10 years ago. Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers and seven sisters.
