SUBSTITUTE HONEY.

BRITISH LEGISLATION URGED. Press Association— Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, August 8. Legislation is proposed to prevent the deceptive use of honey. Sales of substitutes are at present actually exceeding sales of the genuine product in Britain. These are labelled “Prepared Honey.” They, are largely glucose, sold in sixpenny jars, not containing one halfpennyworth of pure honey. The Dominion Governments support the British Beekeepers’ Association in the claim for legal protection for the word “honey.”
