WRESTLING.

REFEREE KNOCKED OUT. PLESTINA DEFEATS JUDSON. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 1. There was an unusual ending to the professional wrestling contest staged at the Town Hall between Marin Plestina and Frank Judson, both of America. In the seventh round, before which each man had secured a fall, Judson was fastened in a wristlock', and in an effort to break clear he hurled himself in the air, at the same time kicking out with both feet. The referee, who was standing near, received the full force of the kick in his abdomen. He reeled backward into a corner, where he was huddled-up against the ropes. In •the meantime Judson had pounced on top of Plestina, whose shoulders rested on the mat far in excess of the regulation three seconds. The referee, however, took some time to recover, and when he did so he discovered that Plestina had Judson pinned with a body press. He awarded a fall, which gave Plestina the match. The spectators took strong exception to the decision, considering that Judson should actually have won the deciding fall. The first fall was obtained by Plestina, who slammed his opponent twice in succession before ending with a body press. Judson drew level in the fifth round. He bounced off the ropes, and although he did not connect properly with a flying body-scis-sors, he was able to take Plestina to the mat and gain a fall with a body press. McCREADY OUTPOINTS KiRILINKO. NEW PLYMOUTH, August 1. Earl McCready was given a close points decision against Matros Kirilinko in a bout before a record crowd. McCready’s superior strength got him out of trouble on many occasions in a bout in which there were no falls. MARSHALL DEFEATS LITTLE WOLF. DUNEDIN-, August 1. In the poorest wrestling bout seen in Dunedin this season, Floyd Marhsall, 16st 121 b, heat Chief Litftle Wolf, 16st 11b, by the only fall of the contest, a. penalty fall awarded in the fourth round when Little Wolf kicked him in the stomach. It was a drab, colourless contest, with too much showmanship of a very poor type and very little straight wrestling.
