SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.
FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW. Winter sports in Ashburton will be continued to-morrow. Rugby Football. The senior competitions of the Ashburton Rugby Union have closed, and to maintain interest in football among the senior teams a knock-out competition will begin. Methven will meet Rakaia on the Oval, and Old Boys will play Public Works at Winchmore. Basketball Matches. Lower-grade competition matches will be played by the Ashburton Basketball Association, and there will also be representative practice. Women’s Hockey. In order to assist in the selection of the team for forthcoming representatime games, further trial games will be played by the Ashburton Ladies’ Association. Men’s Hockey. The competitions of the Ashburton Men’s Hockey Sub-Aasociation will bo continued. Ashburton will play Wakanui in the senior grade, and Ashburton A will meet Ashburton B in the junior grade. Badminton Match. A Badminton match will be played in the Drillshed in the.’ evening between the Christchurch and Allenton Clubs. - Golf Matches. The Ashburton Golf Club wil play senior and junior medal matches. GOLF ASHBURTON LADIES’ MATCH. A four-ball bogey match played by the Ashburton Ladies’ Golf Club yesterday was won by Mrs J. M.
