McDonald, B. Lowe, E. Donaldson, N. Davidson, 0. McDowell. NEW ZEALAND BEATS TOOWOOMBA. BRISBANE, July 29. The New Zealand hockey team defeated Toowoomba to-day by four goals to one. Wilson opened New Zealand’s score, and Toowoomba equalised when Smillie fumbled a clearance. The other scorers for New Zealand were Best and Duffield (2). The home forwards were unable to finish off attacking movements. New Zealand constantly attacked. The outstanding forwards were Best and Duffield., and the best back was Mahoney. The ground was loose and bumpy, but the weather was fine.
