MARLBOROUGH AIR INSTRUCTOR
(Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. Squadron-Leader N. E. Chandler, pilot-instructor to the Marlborough Aero Club and virtual founder of the Club, has announced his retirement from the position in order to enter private business. Squadron-Leader Chandler, who is one of the best-known aviators in New Zealand, served in the Royal Flying Corps during the war, and subsequently was an officer in the New r Zealand Territorial Air Force. Foreseeing the possibilities of the Government’s subsidised aero club scheme, Squadron-Leader Chandler in 1928.t00k the initiative in forming the Marlborough Club. He lias been pilot-instructor ever since. He has over 4000 hours’ flying to his credit and has trained nearly IQO pilots.
