MR M. J. SAVAGE.
DELAY IN HIS ARRIVAL.
STEAMER HELD UP BY GALE.
(Per Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, July 27
Because of a delay of several hour/; in the arrival of the Itangitata at Wellington to-morrow, it lias been necessary to rearrange some of the functions in honour of the return of the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage). The Rangitata was originally expected at 10 a.m., bat a radio message states that a gale has been encountered off the New Zealand coast, and it is unlikely that she will reach Wellington before 4 p.m. The caucus welcome originally set down for 11 a.m. to-morrow has been postponed until the same hour on Thursday. The Parliamentary Labour Party’s reception has been postponed until 3.30 p.m. on Thursday. Assuming that the Rangitata is not still further delayed, the civic reception to Mr Savage at the Town Hall will take place to-morrow night as arranged.
