HINDS.
Thcro was a record attendance in the j Hind.s Hall on Fridaj- evening, when a | send-off was given to Corporal .W. Rogers, Privates L>. Houston, P. Daly, and G. Paterson. The Rev. G. B. Nanson, owing; to the unavoidable absence of Mr J. M. Hampton, occupied the- chair. Ho presented each of the departing soldiers with a beautifully engraved medal from friends in Hinds. Lieutenant Guinness, on behalf of the Hinds Si anal Company, presented Sergeant J. King and Corporal W. Rogers with a set of military brushes in a case, and Private P. Daly with a case of pipes. All the recipients suitably responded. The following contributed items to a very onpvable concert: —Misses L. and M.'Holland, M. Shaw, E. Fletcher, M. O'Reilly. M. Rogers. Mrs J. Scales, Messrs' H. Scales. McLean, P. Cullon, Aifcken. and H. Rogers. After a supper provided by tne ladies the room w-is cleared for dancinrr Mr H. McConnoll acted as M.C.. and Mr J. Milln.n. assisted by several ladies, supplied the music.
