I Auckland, February 27. £500 were sent to Queensland to-day for the Relief Fund, making £1500 subscribed in Auckland. There are still £50 in the bank. The lists are now to be called in and the subscriptions closed. ibAPiOT, February 27. The collection at the Cathedral^ yesterday in aid of the Queensland fund realised over £33. The Working Men's Clyb have donated £55* J Dunedin, February 27. The Dunedin list for the Queensland relief fund is now over £400, independent of large contributions sent direct by several firms. None of the lists from canvassers are yet to hand. Wellington, February 28. The "Evening Post" to-day cabled £200 to Brisbane for the relief of the flood sufferers, making £500 forwarded. Christchukch, February 27. The Ohristchurch subscriptions towards the Queensland relief fund now amounts to £565. An aquatic carnival in aid of the fund is to be held at Lyttelton on March 16. Further large donations of produce have been made. Chpistohurch, February 28. At the meeting of the executive of the Queensland Floods .Relief Committee this morning ib was decided to expend £300 in the purchase of flour, oatiueal, blankets, etc., for transmission. Shipping space had been engaged for fifty tons of produce. The total amount of--subscrip-tions is £726. Fot.ding, February ?8. The Mayor wired £100 to the Queensland relief funds this mornirg. A quantity of produce will be forwaaded to Wellington for shipment to Brisbane.
A meeting if the Committee who carried oub the Promenade Concert was hold last night at the Borough Council Chambers. Mr Purnell was voted fco the , . ... * chair. Mr Peter Williams, h^n. Secretary, read the report of the executive committee, as follows :— We have much pleasure In handing you the result of the late Piomenade Ooncerr, which we were appointed a sub-committee to work up. The concert in every way proved very satisfactory, and resulted financially in £46 10s beiiic obtained for the object which your Committee had in view. When it is remembered that thia represents over 900 people, it will be seen that the public readily responded to the call. The thanks of your Committee are specially due to the Ashburton Publishing Company, "Lyttelton limes" and "Press" for advertising; Mr J. Gamble, printing tickets; Messrs Thomas and Bullock, use of Arcade ; Mr Elston, for fitting up and lighting; the carriers of the town, for carting: St. Stephen's School* Templar Halt and Club, for seats ; Mr H, Gates, for'use of piano; Gas Company and Mr Cawsey, for part of lighting; and to all who assisted at the concert. You will thus see that these contributions have enabled us to make you this return without deducting anything for expenses.—We remain, yours truly—Horace A. The report was adopted, with special thanks to the executive committee, and it was resolved that the proceeds be handed to the Mayor as treasurer of the general Relief Fund. Mr Rule accordingly hvnded the chairman a cheque for £'46 10s, amid applause. A meeting of the general Relief Fund CommiHeee was then held. The Mayor's absence was apologised for, and Mr Purnell presided. Mr Cuthbenson stated the Mayor had received subscriptions amounting to about £120(including proceeds of concert.) A ftec some discussion it was resolved thab an executive; comttritteo consisting of the Mayor^ Councillor Orr and Mr W. H. Rule, be appointed with power to expend a sum of not more than £100 in produce, blankets, etc., and forward same to Brisbane at once. It was also resolved that the same committee be requested to arrange for some suirable place for the reception of gifts of produce, and to notify the snme by advertisement. Mr T. Thornton, President of the Ashburton Club, was added to the general" Committee. 1 Subscription lists were directed to be sent to the Chairman of the several Road Boards, with the request that they do their best to collect subscriptions. Mr D. Thomas expressed his willingness to sell on behalf of the fund all contributions of fowls, pigs, or other farm or dairy produce that might be sent to the Arcade or Tattersall's on Saturday, It was decided that lists of subscriptions should be published in the " Mail" and " Guardian" ; also to adj >urn till next Tuesday, March f, these having subscription lists to forward particulars to the Mayor of subscriptions received up to that date ; and that the subscription lisbs be closed on March 14, those who may not have been waited upon for contributions before that day being requested to forward their subscriptions to his Worship the Mayor. Rev Mr Hamilton, Messrs H. M. Jones, J. C. Duncan, and John Orr, volunteered to attend the market to-day with subscription lists, the Mayor to be asked to accompany them,, /

The Wakanui residents have organised a concert, to be held on Friday, March 10, in aid of the Queensland relict fund, A first-clas^prograuime has been arranged, for which the best Ashburton performers hxve given their service*.
