Mr John 6. Restell, in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited (per Mr J. R. Bland, auctioneer), reports />n the live - stock market foi the week ending February 15:—At the Ashburton voiwty Baleyards on Tuesday, there was again a large entry of sheep of all classes, including several tines * of good store lambs, all of which toond I buyers at high prices. The fat pens were well filled with old crossbred and-merino ewes, but the butchers did not seem keen to purchase, and owners-had to accept a reauction in price. Only one pen of freezers. came forward, a-id sold at 16s. The total entry coinpru>ed 5166 aheep and 35 head of cattle, of which we sold 2528 sheep, as follows :—sl merino ews, 7s 3d; 34 merino ewes, 6s Id ; 34 merino ewes, 6s; 331 crossbred lambs, 10s lid ; 728 merino ewes and lambs, 7a 6d; 348 old crossbred ewes, 10i 6d ; 15 lambs, 6s 4d; 208 crossbred lambs, 10a lid; 466 crosabred lairbs, 10s 9d.
