Messrs J. T. Ford and Co. (in conjunction with Mr Henry Zander) report on the Ashburton livestock market, Tuesday, February 14, as followi:— 1 his market was wei. attended, and there was a fair averagy entry of sheep—about 516<>. The title was void of briskness or animation, bat though biddings were slow, fair prices wen obtained for all useful lines of sheep. A very prime entry of 150 four-tooth crossbred wethers brought 16a 3d each. Other entries of second-class mutton were more difficult to quit, crossbred wethers bringing 13t 10d a each ; fat crossbred ewes, 10s 6d; lat merino' ftwee, 6s Id to 6s lid ; crossbred lambs, 8« 4d, 9s 9d, to lls sd; crossbred ewes and lambs, Bs. 6d, all counted; two-tooth crossbred ewes, 13s 9d to 14s 3d; old merino ewes, 4s Id each. A very useful line of first-cross lambs in forward condition were sold privately at Hi 7d each. We sold privately during the week 400 crossbred lambs, 10s 6d. There is a good demand for young crossbred and also for sound mouthed merino ewes. Healthy well grown lambs and well conditioned crossbred and merino ewes will also be in demand as the season'advances. t
