MR JOHN G. RESTELL.

Mr John G. Westell, in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan anil Mercantile Agency Company, Limited (per Mr J. R. Bland, auctioneer), reports ou the live stock market for the week ending Friday, February 10:-—At the Tinwald yards on Tuesday iaßt, ihere was a fair entry, considering thac farmers are busy with the harvest. The attendance of farmers and others was good, and the sale, taken on the whole, was very satisfactory. Ihe total entry comprised about S'JOO sheep, of which we sold 1941 sheep hs follows :—lB crossbred ewes, 9<s 3.1 ; 23 merino wethers, 9s 31; 40 merino wethers, llr; 160 merino wethers, 10s 9d—these were a superior line of vehers sent forward by Messrs Crowe und Lysaght; 6.0 merino ewes and lambi, 63 9d—all counted ; 000 merino ewes and lambs, 7s 7d —all counted ; 200 merino ewe 3 and lambs, 8s 9d—all counted. Rakaia Monthly Sale. —On Thursday, February 2, we held our regular monthly sale at our South Rakaia yards. A large entry of sheep came forward, and a number of horses. The attendance was good, aud the sale was one of the best ever held in Rakaia, The entry comprised 3300 sheep anjl 5 horses. We sold the whole of the sheep as follows:—1035 crossbred twotooths, 13s 54d; 956 crossbred ewes and lambs, 12s 4d each : 320 crossbred ewes and lambs, 11s 7d} 250 four-tooth merino ewer, 8s (id; 530 merino wethers, 5b 6s ; 120 crossbred ewes and lambs, 83 9d; 20 crossbred ewes, 10s. In horses we only sold a good up-standing hack, £14.1 Daring the week we have soid privately — 1700 two-tooth crossbreds, j3s; 790 twotooth crossbreds, 13e; 300 four-tooth wethers, 15s 6d ; 750 lambs, 12s 6d ; 300 lambs, 133; 600 lamba, 12s 7d. On account of Mr Peter, of Anama, 1900 halfbred lambs at owner's reserve; 1000 two and four-tooth crossbred ewes, 14s 6d ; 620 crossbred ewes, 10s; 3/J0 crossbred ewes, 12s Qd,
