MESSRS J. T. FORD AND CO.
Messrs J. T. Ford and Co. report on the Tinwald sale on Tuesday, February 7, as follows : — Notwithstanding that harvest operations are in full swing, there was a fair average entry oi stock penned for this sale, and although the attendance was not so numerous as usaal, prices held gocd, and most of the lines of sheep changed hands. Crossbred lbtnbs brought from 11s 3d to 12s 6d ; at the latter price we sold a line from the Barford Station on account of Mr C J. Harper. Two-tooth crossbreds from 10a 8d for small to 13s 8d each far well grown sheep; ewes aud lambs sold »t from 7s to 8s 9d all counted. Merino wethers from 9a ' 5d 10 10s 6d each, There was only a small entry of cattle, the bulk of which were sold at full rates. We would take this opportunity of calling attention to an advertisement whicti appears in the local papers, whereby it will be seen we have arranged v'th Mr H>nry Zander to act with us in th«- A.liburton »nd Tinwald stock sales, and trust that Mr Zander's well known energy and promptitude in business will secure a fair shaie of support from the 1 farmers and settlers iv the Ashburton county. Entries will be received by Mr Zander, who will also carefully attend to the requirements of clients. In making this announcement we beg to thank old friends n the Ashburton district for the favor and support they have accorded to us in the past, and at the same time to assure them all business with which they entrust us will receive the same diligence and care in the future.
