Warbrick coon afterwards got Id, an<* a goal was kicked by Ellison ; and then Keogh got m, and another goal was kicked. Just before the end of ihe spell the Natives again scored a try and another goal resulted, Otago m the first portion of the spoil appeared to be thoroughly demoralised, but warmed to their work, and , during the next ten minutes Montgomery scored a try for Otago, but nothing further resulted, acd immediately afterwards Downos potted a goal amidot great applause. At the end of the spell ths ecores were : Natives, ten points, and Otago four pmti. The brilliant passing of ti:e Natives, and the machine like form m which they played together seem to have dispirited .Otago from the eta t.
In the Becond spell Otago raieed their Foore from four to eight points, while the Natives succeeded m adding one point to their previous score. The passing of the local men was a deoided improvement on that of the first spell, Ihe forwards played a faster game, and succeeded Id cutting eff a hrge number of the passes to the Maori backs.
