Mr Oonllfle, tbe Paamaolaa expert, who had been prospootlug the tin olatas at Pogaaus for several holders, came over to-day, bringing samples of stream tin that will pay to work, yielding 70 per cent of metal, and to be got m qiantlty. He Is of opinion that the field will turn out good, but disapproves of the way the whole oountry has been matked off into olaiips, as only a <e<? pan ever poaslbly be worth working. The movement hitherto haa been more of aland speculation than saarob for minerals. Very few olaims have yet bean touohed with the piok and shovel, and most of them are not worth spending money on. Even those thai ' are payable will rr quire considerable expenditure m cash and time before a return can be obtained. The lode he believes will yet be fouod, and will pro-' bably equal that of Bisohoff, but It may take a great deal of labor to disc-over. The difficulty In getting plant and supplies up the mountain, and ths climate oondi tlons, are muoh against the development of the field.
