+ [PJBB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] New Yobs, June 9. The latest return of the loss of life by the Johnstown catastrophe is 37,000. This is based on the fact that 13,000 survivors have registered their names, while it is estimated that the population of the district affected (ia Conemaugh Valley) is 50,000. It is feared that all the rest have lost their lives. Presidents Harrison accepts Queen Victoria's message of sympathy upon the Johnstown catastrophe as an expression of the generous character of Her- Majesty and indicative of the goodwill of England towards the United States and their people. The wife of a leading citizen of Johnstown has been found alive among the debris. A coffin has been found containing a corpse, partly burned.
