Brown, the proprietor of the Criterion Hotel, Akaroa was rather surprised when the posiman came on Tuesday to fee ;ive a bnlky letter (with 4d to p(*y on it) amongst his other letters, Oa opening it he fouod it contained one £5 note, find eight £1 notes, of which, as before reported, be hid been robbed ; also a curioua epistle, to the effect that he (Mr Brown) hid made a mistake m supposing he bad been robbed of £14, bb it was only £13, and that he had b amed the wrong man. Mr Browu, when he recovered from the shook, placed the letter m the hands of the police, and perhaps more may be heard about it yet. — PreßS.
