PROPOSED RELIEF FUND. (PBB PRESS ABBOOIATlOVi) MtLBOUBMB, April 10. A meeting was held m the Town Hall this, evening m the interests of a Chinese Famine Eund. A large number of Socialists and Freethinkers, and members of other Societies, were present, and created a great disturbance. They moved an amendment, affirming that until the distress at home had been relieved the colony had no right to busy itself about distress m China. The amendment was ultimately rejected, and a large sum subscribed m the room towards the object m view.
