THE PARNELL COMMISSION.

(per fress association,) London, January 16. At the " Times "-Parnell Commission to-day, the Hon E. C. Broderick, Warden 'of Merton College, Oxford, was called upon to explain his conduct m comparing Michael Davitt to the Whitechapel murderer. After hearing his explanation, the Commission dismissed him without ordering an y punishment. Sir R. E. Webster, Attorney-General, counsel for the " Times," made a statement as to the course of business. He said that the evidence as to the cause and effect of crime m Ireland was nearly concluded, and that m all probability he would be able to proceed with, the evidence relating to the letters alleged to have been written by Mr Farnell next week. Mr William O'Brien, M.P., charged with publishing m "United Ireland" an article insulting to the Commission claimed the right to criticise the Com mission, and disclaimed any intention of intimidation. Judgment was reserved. A witness named Jago, a member of the Committee of the Killoe branch of the League, was examined before the . " Tunes "-Parnell Commission yesterday/ He swore that he and another murdered a grazier named Hooligan by order ot the League, and that the president of the local branch paid them money for the committal of the crime.
