THE GREAT CYCLONE
FURTHER PARTIC ULARB. (PIR PBXBB ABSOOIAriOW.) Washington, January 11. The damage to the Niagara suspension bridge by the cyclone is estimated at half a million dollars. Fourteen bodies were reoorered from one building m Pittsburg. The damage to Reading railway amounts to 80,000 dollars. A hundred persons were recovered alive, bat more or less injured, from the ruins of the I Bilk mill destroyed at Reading. It is feared a steamer conveying naval officers from San Francisco to Moir Island will have been caught m the gale. Farther particulars show that the tornado took an easterly path, covering a track of nearly 200 feet m width through the States of t hio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Besideß those killed many thousands of people were injured. Reading railway station waß razed to the ground ana set on fire. The telegraph communication was interrupted m all directions. Snow and rain followed the cyclone. The three gaso- ! meters m Brooklyn exploded, and threw the city into partial darkness. Damage was done to the extent of half a million dollars. The explosion is supposed to be due to the electrical disturbance consequent on the tornado. . # New Yobk.
