KILLED BY A TRAM.
(per press association.)^ Dunedin, September 19 A young man named Henry D. Plante was killed on the Roalyo cable tram this evening. It ia supposed ha waa walking up tbe line through the catting on the Town Belt, and tbe wind belag Btroog and dust blowing that be was stooping bo much that he did not Bee the approaching tram car coming down, which ran over j him- He was taken to the hospital, and died shortly afterwards. The young man was a compositor In the ' Witness " Office. Later, It appears that the parents of tbe yonng man Piar to, killed on the tram line, are dead. His unole resides m TJmaru From farther information it appears Plante was oanght by a guat of wind just SB he was emerging from the cutting, and before he could recove? himself he wan blown on to the line and struck by the oar he had been walking alongside.
