Mr Dillon will be required to give bail himself m iBIOOO before being released from prison for the purpose of giving evidence before the Charges and Allegations Commission. The press generally eulogises the attitude of Sir Charles Hannen at the preliminary proceedings. The " Times," however, makes no comment at all The " Daily News " claims that, the decision of the Commission as to requiring time to open the case and produce documents, vindicates the conten tions the Liberals have made all along. London, September 18 It is believed that the Parnellites will endeavor to prove that the "Times" employed private' detectives, who made use of forged documents and Buborned witnesses m connection with the charges made against them by that paper. A report is current, to the effect that the " Times " will apply for a habeas corpus to obtain the attendance of those Invin'cibles who are serving life sentences for the Phoenix Park murders, to give evidence to connect the Land and National Leagues with the murderers. S|A medical certificate has been published which states that Mr John Dillon is m a very serious condition, and that he may possibly live for a few weeks only. The Government have offered to release him on condition that he shall abstain from taking part m public agitation. -To this proposal Mr Dillon has refused to agree, and it is now stated' that owing to his critical state of health he will be released unconditionally.
