London, August 5 Owing to the recent heavy rains m lowlying lands and tenements round the city have been submerged by floods. The traffic on the railways has been blocked. Great distress prevails m many quarters. Hundreds of animals were drowned. Several large breveries were flooded our. Subscriptions are now being raised for the relief of the sufferers. The weather has now cleared.
