ROBBERY AND ATTEMPTED MURDER
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 9. A oase of robbery and attempted murder has been reported to the police. The vlotim is Frank Oo&alni. boot maker, whose story is that on Saturday morning he took some money m notes from a box m his bedroom for the purpose of paying some bills, ai he was to be married to-day and leave for Melbourne. He was transacting this business on Saturday and yesterday. Last night between ten and eleven he was returning home across the reclaimed ground and when at the baok of the Opera House he was tezad by two men, who he alleges were shepherding him during the day. He was thrown violently to the ground and lost consciousness. When he regained consciousness he f onn3 himself m the water near the breast work with a wound In the throat. Being used to tha water and a good swimmer he sucoeded m gaining the shore, and he remembers nothing more till be reached his home. He says that he would be able to Identify oae of his assailants. Doctor R«wson who sewed up the wound says the flesh wouud is not dangerous.
