«, Ong Saturday, Jane 23rd, the Aehbarton hounds met at Mr M. Frifcdlander's homntead, Lyndhurst, at noon. After enjoying Mr Frledl»nder'« hospitality a move was made to the paddock between the house and the railway, where several hares were Boon on foot. Scent was ottoby, and the hounds oould not hold it over the road or railway, to which points the first ,two or three bareß made. At last the hounds settled to one whioh pave • nice ruQ ronnd the paddocks of about thirty minutes, when she was lost at the railway. Another was soon found, whioh fortunately did not leave the paddocks, though running alongside the railway fence as far as Urrall station, where she made a turn at right angles and took a oapltal round almost back to Mr FriedJander's homestead, where she was killed. Time, 25 mln. Hounds can well, and as • alight detour had to be made to avoid a barb- wire fenoa and water-raoa pace was very merry throughout. Aa the hounds had to travel back to Aahburton, a move wai now made for home, each and all being much pleased with thair cnrdul reoeption and afternoon's sport.
