(From oub own Correspondent.) Wellington, Jane 25. Government, it appears, are fnlly determined to go on with the commission to enquire into. the claims of Joshua Jones. The Commission will start for Mokau and Kins; 0 >ontry In the course of a few dayu. The Committee of the "Skinflints" renamed Its sitting to-day to coDsider the question of still farther reducing the votes proposed by the Estimates, and It is stated that thoogb they have only partially considered them, the Committee believe that redactions to the 6itent of £20,000 can be made. Speculation IsatUl rife as to the probable outcome of events after the Tariff has been dealt with, andfnptniona diff-ir very materially. The supporters of Government proper aver that when all Is said »od done the number of Beoeders will be co small 8B to leave Government still with a majority, even if they are opposed by •H the Opposition Protectionist. The Oppositionists on the other hand aver that without them Government will be m a minority, and that to retain their support Sir H. Atkinson will either resign and have a reconstruction, taking m two or three Opposition Protectionists, or will •hoot two or three of the present Ministry fn favor of Opposition men. Sir H.
