ASHBURTON LIVE STOCK MARKET
Mr D. Thomas reports upon the live stook market for the Ashburton District for the week ending June sth, as follows : — On Tuesday at the Tinwald Yards I held my usual weekly sale of sheep, oattle, and pigs. The entry was not a very large one either m sheep or oafctle, but those who attended the Bale were evidently requiring stook, as the competition throughout was fairly good, and I disposed of every line that oame forward at good prices. I sold fat crossbred aged ewes at 6s 7d ; store crossbred ewes m lamb, 63; oull crossbred lambs, 33 6d to 43 6d ; merino ewes, 2s to 4s 3d. Fat pigs, 36s to 435. In cattle— Fat heifers light weights, £4 5a to £4 10s ; fat steers, £4 15s ; store steers, £3 ss ; eighteenmonth heifers, £1 5s to £1 6s 6d ; oalves, 15s.
