Fortunately our looal market ie not much influonoed by them. The rates of freight required has a muoh more influencing effect on our looal prices than anything else ; at present the rates are high but there is a disposition on the part of charterers to meet shippers. Wheat.— Tusoan holds premier position and is worth 2s 9d. Pearl which is becoming < soaoe may be quoted at a similar figure, but ia taken mostly by looal and intercolonial millers. Hunters' prime is m fair request at 2s 7£d to 2s 8d ; second quality, 2s 6d to 2s 7d ; chicken wheat, 2s to 2s 3d. Oats have an upward tendenoy, and prime milling are saleable at 2s ; short feed, Is lOd to Is lid ; inferior and long kinds Is 8d to la 9d. Baulky.— Some little business has been done at 4s to 4s 3d for prime, medium quality is selling at 8s 6d to 3s Od. Peab and Beans are without alteration. Grass Seed. — No ohange to notice m ryegrass. Oooksfoot is slightly easier, B£d being the best figure for prime. PoxAxoKa are In a little better demand* at 21s to 22s 6d,at oountty stations. Daisy Pboduce. — Butter is m excellent demand at 7d to 8d for ohoice lots, cheese is quiet at last quotations. The above prices are those paid to farmers for delivery, f.0.b,, Lyttelton.
