(Per Pbess Association,) Dunedin, April 13. The libel aotlon D'Albedylill v Brnnion, whioh has occupied the jupreme Court three long daya' sittings, c-metoa oonolnslon this evening. The defendant, who la an evangelist preacher here, wrotn an alleged libellous lett3r about MraD'Albedyhll to her relations m Tasmania, doing bo aa the friend and adviser of her husband, who la estranged from hta wife. Voluminous 6videnoe was takeu Bho.ving that Mr Brnnton sent the lengthy letter m question with a view to vindicating the position of the husband m the dlagreementa with Mrs D'Albtdyhll, and at the husband's request. It being afterwards reported among Mr Brunton's flook that he had written nlnnder mid falsehoods about Mrs D'Albedyhll a nnraber of them Bought to obtain copies of the letter. With the Idea of clearing himself of the accusation, Mr Brnnton read the letter to various of his congregation m a meeting assembled, and also to one or two privately t' vi further publishing the alleged libel. The jury Ihia evening returned a verdiot for the plaintiff for £200, the full amount ohlcne^, and ooßts.
