Wvdnrs, February 8 The Seamen'j Union has resolved to levy 5s per month from each member m support of the Jubilee Company of New Zealand.
The Railways Managememt Bill, which provides that all constructed railways m the colony shall be pi iced under the control of a Board of Com missioners, was read a third time m the House this evening.
Peter Kemp is slightly the favorite m the sculling match With Clifford for the championsip of the world and j£aoo a-side, whirh is to be rowed over ihe championship course on the Paramuta on the nth insr. In the Legislative Assembly a motion was given notice of rescinding the Speaker's appointment. Government opposed it as a question of privilege, and ultimately the notice was withdrawn. The Speaker announced that he would resign ai. Dnce if be thought any considerable number of members favored the resolution.
