VICTORIA.
Mrlbourni, January 21. The wrecked vessel Edinburgh Castle has been sold for £520. The waves are now making a clean sweep of the ship, which is regarded as a total wreck, and only to-day three of tbe men who were working on board of h.er had to be rescued by a line from ths shore.
The police have received a clue to those connected with the Qourlay, jewellery robbery, and have recovered some of the stolen property from a person who states he received it fronj $ woman.
A syndicate have purchased a claim at Mount Dockrell at a bigh figure, and they are m treaty for another claim, ,£50,000 has been offered for a third of a claim at Mount Dockrell, con* ditionally on the test of the stuff proving favorable. Men are scarce, and m consequence wages are at a high rate. Fresh discoveries are being made daily, and the results of the crushings are anxiously awaited.
