NEW SOUTH WALES.
Stdnbt, January 22. The tug steamer which was despatched to search for the missing boat of the American ship J. T. Berry, burnt at sea, has returned without finding a trace of the ill fated mariners. A minute search was made off Lord Howe Island without siiccess, and as the weather has been fine there for some time past, it is considered that the boat has not been 'in that vicinity, as' a landing could easily have been effected. It is now thought that those missing have perished unless they had the good fortune to fall m with a passing vessel.
