Tha Npat'maru Block, open, for aelectlon at the Orown Lends Office, proved a great failure, only one section being ao'd ThU U ttatcd to bo partly due to the harbor rate. The Waltara Harbor" Board paused the following resolution : — v That this Board declines to pay the rate now demanded by the New Plymouth Harbor Board, or any future rats demanded." Other looal bodies are likely to adopt a similar attitude. Serious complications are probable.
