MOUNT SOMERS ROAD BOARD.
The nsual montly meeting of the above Board was held last Monday, Present — Mesirs MoFarlano (Chairman), Harrison and Chapman. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. ovkbsebr's report. The Overseer's report was read and oonßibered. — Resolved to repair the drain on Boyd's road, also to repair the Gorge road between Harvey's and the coal pit ; also to repair the road leading to the Mount Possession wool shed, RIVER FORDS. The Overseer reported that the contractor for keeping tho river fords m order was not doing his work m a satisfactory manner. — Resolved that if the forda were not pat m repair according to the specification at once the Overeesr has power to cancel his contract and call freah tanders for the work. •
DEPOSIT JFJHFBITED. Mr Jackman, contractor, interviewed the Board with respect to the contraot let to him on Monday, 28th November, and declined to take up tho contract — Resolved that Mr Jackman forfeit his deposit, and the Overeeer «vas instructed to call freah tenders for tho work. Tinders to ba in by Monday, 12th December. Mr Stott interviewed the Board with reppect to the drain nenr his land. — Resolved that tho eamo ba repalrod at once, OORRESPONDENOF : Correspondence wan reud : — From Mr B. Haghoß, enclosing account for£l 153 for circulars printed m 1883. — Resolved that the Board recognise no liability. From Mr A. F/. Merewother, asking the Board to pay him for work, done on tho Swin creek, — llc-solved to give him onn pound. , * From Mr T. S. Johnston, offering to do certain work to the Road Board cottage. — The Overseer waa instructed to get tho necessary worfc done, also to get tho fence round the office trimmed. From Mr Geo. McMillan, statins: that he ceased to occupy ruoa 680 and GBl. — The Clerk was instructed to write to the Property Tax Department and ec quire who held tbe runs now. From Mr Gao. Mcßae, stating that he had made the oroieing uear his homestead and asking for the Board's contribution to be forwaided. — Resolved that the amount be passed for payment, and the Overseer was instructed to forward the same. From Mr H< od, received last meeting, was agai.i deferred till next mooting, and m the interval the Ovaraeer to inspect and report as to the amouut of damage done by> storm water. The pay-sheet amounting to £46 0s lOd was paßsed for payment, and the Board adjourned!
